| Description | The general purpose of the MOBILE G@TEKEEPER is to enable users to search, process and receive predefined cultural information from any technological platform.
For example, prior to a visit in Aalborg/North Denmark, users should be able to retrieve information and define the type of information required via the Internet. After the actual visit to Aalborg/North Denmark, data and information should be available to subsequent processing and use.
One example familiar to most travellers:
At home, before setting out on his journey, a business traveller in North Denmark defines that he or she is interested in certain aspects of cultural information that might be on in the region of North Jutland. From his own computer the user can now receive a presentation in text or 3D multimedia of any cultural initiatives currently on show in North Denmark . This information enables the user to select topics of interest to be stored and brought along on a portable computer during the stay. This is just an example.
Take another:
On the arrival to Aalborg/North Jutland a user might for example receive an SMS velcoming users as a standard feature when the device is logging on to the GSM/GPRS/UMTS net. Depending on the user's subscription to Mobile G@tekeeper, the message will be a personal welcome or a reference to the service, all in the language indicated by the mobile's settings for roaming. For the user already subscribing to Mobile g@tekeeper, it will reference the very map and exact route to the artistic cultural landscape of Aalborg/North Denmark based on the topics stored by the user prior to his visit.
For example the user may have entered the name on his favourite bands or actors and opted to receive an SMS or an e-mail, when they are performing in North Denmark. Already at the arrival for example, the newcomer or tourist with a pre-entered new address of stay such as a hotel/motel, could use a push SMS to let the system tell, which restaurants, cafés and stores etc. to be found in the neighbourhood and receive good offers related directly to cultural events, a dimension of experience irrespective of content.
So the user/newcomer/tourist can make predefined search lists that will immediately retrieve information on topics of interest to that very user in this region.
And on the tour through the city and the region the user will receive information of good offers and updated information using on the new location based services for mobile terminals.
Here the focus is on quality events within the field of culture.
For example a user touring the various museums of the city or region might get an offer from the tourist agency, the Zoo, the arts museum of Aalborg or other culture-historical attractions, based on the location of the user – the appropriate cultural offer at the right place and time is the code of the game.
MOBILE G@TEKEEPER can be used by people arriving to the region and established residents no matter if they are recently arrived businesspeople or tourists. |
