| Description | The project is based on one of the most advanced sound technologies of today - 3D sound, and via the actual work with significant players on the market and artists, - in the synthesis of art and technology, it tries to generate a new potential to create musical and audiotechnical experiences.
Based on an entirely unique audiotechnology developed in North Denmark, the purpose of the project is to produce a range of experiences with sound as its common and central expression. Users will meet the results in existing physical locations (the art and cultural facilities of North Denmark) as well as in virtual spaces.
The basic objective of the project is to summon the most recent audiotechnology to create an entirely new concept of audio and musical experience. The emphasis is on three purposes:
The central goal of the project is to create a range of auditive works of art and culture to be experienced by various usergroups and contexts.
A subsidiary goal of the project is the testing of the ways of collaboration, and the evaluation and documentation of the experiences obtained.
A subsidiary goal of the project is to contest and relate to the rather dogmatic atittude of art towards the user. As with the theme of collaboration, the experience obtained should be evaluated and documented.
So the great challenge of the project is to bring together creative and performing artists and developers with a technological background to generate a synergy with an effect on the creative process and its aesthetic result as well as the technological innovation.
A vital prerequisite for creative and performing artists to create artistic experiences, is the availability of user interfaces to the technology for establishing the creative space. In providing this, a significant historical obstacle was the origin and foundation of digital technology in a technical and scientific framework, and not until the last decade was it made available to a wider public of non-professional users. An essential subsidiary goal of the project is to eliminate this barrier. |
