Project start05 March 2001
Project end31 December 2003
DescriptionThe project offers mentally ill people the opportunity to take part in the Information society and to both develop and participate in a distance learning environment for mentally ill people in North Denmark.

A sub goal of the project is:

To offer mentally afflicted people Internet access and by this the opportunity to search for Information etc. from the location where the mentally afflicted persons lead their daily lives, e.g. in a shelter- and day centre under the County, from clubs- and recreational offers (SIND-club, SIND=s Minor school for adults in Aalborg and Frederikshavn) and in psychiatric departments.

To let the users achieve and maintain general IT skills by offering specially structured IT education

To participate in distance learning by creating a special distance learning environment and developing methods within that area.

The project runs for 3 years from 2001 to 2003.

The project is a cross-sectorial cooperation between the Department for Education and Cultural Affairs, the Special School for Adults in Hjørring, the Psychiatric Dept. of the County of North Denmark, the Danish Educational Association, the County of North Denmark and SIND's the North Denmark Division.

A management team has been established with representatives from all of the above mentioned organisations.
