| Description | Purpose
The purpose of the project is to enhance information handling qualifications in the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs). Information handling qualifications comprises several qualifications. Recognition and definition of information requirements. Identification of sources of information. Working out a search strategy. Assessing the relevance of the information found. This also includes computer and Internet skills.
The enterprise and the capability of each employee to find relevant information at the right time is crucial to competitiveness of enterprises in a knowledge based information society.
The enterprise should learn to manage the company inherent knowledge and recognize the type of knowledge required to stay competitive.
Goal
The project should contribute to maintaining and enhancing the competitiveness of the SMEs on local, national and global markets. This should give the enterprise and each employee a boost in qualifications and provide them with approaches to permanent learning. This is done by educating key persons. They will be presented to tools for solving strategic and practical tasks in their daily work. They will learn how to collect information and discriminate between cases where they can find information themselves, and the cases where they should consult a professional.

- Knowledge of information handling qualifications and knowledge management
- Recognition of the strategic importance of information handling qualifications and knowledge management
- Information strategies to solve specific tasks
- Help to work out a plan for utilizing the information handling qualifications
