| Description | The goal of the project is developing a frame system, enabling enterprises and organisations to compose virtual/Web based educational courses in an efficient and ”cheap” way. The project is primarily aiming to offer an optimising of the learning processes (supplementary training, re-education, a qualification boost etc.) for employees, those between jobs, and in general the citizens of North Denmark.
The Vision of the Project:
Generating new approaches in teaching, the pedagogical underlying concept being that the education should be problem based, organised in teams and enabling a dialogue. Thus the education should happen in an open dialogue between the instructor and the students in a virtual educational environment. The interaction in such an environment can be optimised by organising groups or teams with a virtual environment of their own while also taking part in a larger virtual environment, and who should utilise or 'recycle' existing knowledge that has already been accumulated.
Creating an intelligent system (the system will start recognising you and your needs).
Refrain from being a teacher intensive system, but rather teacher independent (the teacher will not be going into details, he/she will be addressing general matters – databases will deliver the basics).
The system should be motivating/promoting for learning along new ways.
The frame system which will be designed by a consortium of known institutions and companies of Aalborg, is a distance learning system to make a frame for the best distance learning via home computer systems, and with internal education for the industrial sector as its primary focus.
An essential element to the IKT frame system will be the expansion and refinement of the co-operational approach that applies to any course of distance learning. Here the keyword for the system is the development of technology and pedagogic, with instructors, Web designers (technicians) and educationalists co-operating fast and efficiently on establishing a course of education.
The consortium is clearly convinced that the IKT frame system will offer the following benefits:
Dissemination and enhancement of the technological infrastructure.
An enhanced development of qualifications.
An increase in employment and industrial competitiveness.
A contribution to increased efficiency and service within the public sector.
The project will minimize the barriers related to an integration of IKT in the educational system.
And the project will enable an efficient cooperation across subjects and professions.
The system will bridge the concepts of distance learning and classroom teaching, which will give a greater number of citizens a chance to receive supplementary education.
The IKT frame system is a different distance learning system centred around the teacher's and the students' use of the system. The great ambition of the project is taking up the challenge of existing IKT systems and creating a more easy to use distance learning system, allowing its users to create an educational course in a direct, intuitive and economically attractive way. These courses should be able to act as stand-alone modules or as supplements to more conventional ways of teaching. |
