| Description | Skagenfood.dk in BriefSkagenfood.dk is a fishmonger's shop to be found on the Internet. So far the target group has consisted of private customers; however, with the aid from e.g. the IT Lighthouse we will target canteens and day-care centres. Skagenfood.dk was initiated on July 5, 2001 and opening December 2001 we have acquired more than 900 private subscribers.
Concept
Skagenfood.dk delivers directly to the customer's front door. In a subscription to the Season's Fresh Fish the customer can sign for a delivery every week, or every other week. Two days prior to delivery, the customer will receive the relevant recipe via E-mail. Shipping and storage is done in an especially designed cooling box packed with ice. The box will keep a constant temperature of 0-2°C, which will keep the fish fresh even if the customer returns late on the day of delivery.
Skagenfood.dk will now develop the subscription concept to market for the segment of canteens and day-care centres.
Background for a further development of the concept
The consumers' increasing demand for quality, including traceability, and the Internet combined with the subscription concept of Skagenfood.dk has enabled an entirely new subscription system. This way Skagenfood.dk maintains the best professional traditions of the fish processing industry while basing our business on the Web.
The subscription system will make fresh fish available to canteens and daycare-centres and make a significant alternative to existing catering and wholesale companies. This applies to quality as well as diversity.
Good gastronomic experiences have become a means of attracting and maintaining good human resources. Part of the good gastronomic experience is telling the story behind the raw article. And this is exactly one of the potentials in a subscription system that keeps track of the raw article. |
