The Theme of IT Industrial Development

The object of this theme is to enhance the IT industry and to further the general use of IT within the industries of North Denmark.

This is focused on three fields of effort:

• E-business (Electronic business)
  
• IT Industrial Development
  
• IT Framework Conditions for the Industrial Sector
  

The first two fields of effort share the desire to initiate a number of projects acting as a driving force or a source of inspiration to the industrial sector in general.

E-Business
Once the private enterprises or the public sector introduce E-business, this will open up to a wide range of opportunities to streamline existing ways of commerce, and it will allow a range of new trade models changing existing business procedures and routines, and the current market conditions in a lot of ways.

The field of effort includes both E-business within B2B (Business to Business) and B2C (Business to Consumer). In this context the concept of E-Business applies in its widest sense, including all types of investments in new technology and new applications, or in new applications of known technology. What counts is its contribution to an enhanced competitive power and adding progress to electronic commerce.

IT Industrial Development
North Denmark wants more strong IT enterprises as a too low number of IT enterprises based in the region will render the remaining industrial sector of the region even more reluctant in placing the required IT investments. To boost development, a series of projects are initiated with the object of intensifying the cooperation between IT enterprises and the remaining industrial sector to go for larger goals for the benefit of both parties.

IT-Framework Conditions for the Industrial Sector
Access to knowledge, exchange of experience, and capital resources are central framework conditions for enhancing the IT development. So with the aid of The Digital North Denmark a number of institutions and environments are created to optimise these conditions by making efficient use of the experience and the knowledge developed in projects within The Digital North Denmark.
